At the International School of Figure Skating in Riga come with different goals: one is enough to work out a confident slip, others dream of mastering a few simple elements to show off to friends on the rink, the third are determined to succeed in the sporting field. Depending on the goals, as well as the age and training of the figure skater, a training program is being developed.
Amateur figure skating for children and adults is:
- Absence of strict age limits - you can come to the rink at 10, 20, 30, 40 years and later;
- Milder requirements for health, physical data and general training;
- Free schedule for visiting the figure skating section in Riga and Ozolnieki;
- The opportunity to choose the form of training (classes in the group, individual lessons) and adjust the program in accordance with their wishes and interests.
Professional figure skating implies:
- Early start of training (ideally at the age of 3 to 5 years);
- intensive individual and group training according to the approved schedule (minimum 3 times a week ice + general and special physical preparation + choreography + rhythmics);
- Studying of obligatory elements of FC, statement of short and arbitrary programs in accordance with ISU requirements;
- Passing tests on slip;
- fulfillment of standards, obtaining categories;
- Trips to the figure skating rallies in Ozolnieki during school holidays;
- The choice of specialization (single / pair sport skating, dancing on ice); participation in competitions.
